1. T starts the lesson by asking the Ss how often they talk on the phone and why.The Ss answer the questions. 5’

2. Then Ss receive handouts and are asked to do ex.3.8/page 30:they have to fill in the gaps with suitable words related to phene calls from a list. The activity is done individually  and the is checked with the whole class.15’

3. Listening 1 . The Ss hear some orders made on the phone and have to choose from a list the information mentioned by the callers.- individual work. Then the ss compare their answers.(ex.C/25}15’

4.Listening 2.A The ss hear 2 colleagues talking on the phone.They are asked to decide if Sally accepts or rejects each of Bill’s offers to help(ex.3/29). The T checks their answers.  10’

B. The ss listen to the conversation again and highlight on their handouts the phrases they use( ex.4/29)  10’

5. . Listening 3.A. Thess are asked to listen another piece of listening of 2 peoplle talking in an office They have to put a tick or x to show if the host gives his permission to the visitor to do the things from the list( ex.5/29) – individual work.  The T checks their answers.           

             B.The ss listen to the conversation again and highlight on their handouts the phrases they use( ex.6/29) 10’      

6. Role- play. The ss simulate a situation of a telephone conversation. They have to follow a flowchart(ex.E/27) in order to complete the task successfully.  15’

7. Homework assignment- The ss  are asked to arrange an appointment on the phone with Dr Henderson, Head of Research at Richmond and Co.Ltd.
