Elementary Past Simple Picture story

Poor Fabio

• Fabio was from Rome in Italy.

• One summer he went to study English in Oxford.

• He made a lot of new friends in Oxford,

• but he really wanted an English girlfriend.

• He dreamt of being big and strong,

• but he was small and very thin.

• One night he went to the club and he sat down watching the people dancing.

• All of a sudden he noticed a very beautiful girl,

• and before he knew it, she approached him and asked him to dance with her.

• Fabio loved dancing and he was very happy to join her, however, something went wrong and after three records he fainted.

• Two of his friends carried him outside,

• and were surprised to find that he was wearing six pullovers under his jacket.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. First make enough copies of the picture for each student in the class.

2. Next the students should work in groups and try to put the story together from the pictures.

3. These sentences (on the third and fourth pages of the pack) should be cut out and distributed among the class and the students should work in groups to try and to put the story together. Each group should have one pack of sentences.

4. Set a time limit for the students to accomplish their task.

5. Go over the story as a class to make sure that everyone has the correct version.
